ABOUT ME

My career in education began teaching English in a small village near Treviso, Veneto, Italy. Currently, I am the proud teachers of sixth-grade language arts and social science. With the adoption of Common Core State Standards, many of us teachers have had to rely on each other for curriculum, strategies, resources, and tools. I found myself creating nearly everything I used in my classroom. I figure, if I find these tools useful, someone else out there might as well! For this reason, I created my Teachers Pay Teachers Store, "Valerie's Core Classroom."
As a Google Certified Educator, I enjoy integrating technology into my lessons. I believe that technology should be used in a classroom to expand on content in a rigorous, engaging, meaningful, and fun way! I am thrilled to design materials and resources useful for any classroom. Teaching is truly my passion!
